IntroductionThis spirit conversation, designed to take about 15 to 30 minutes for 8 people, allows participants to discuss life-changing decisions in their lives. The conversation begins by reminding participants of decisions made by Jesus that led to his crucifixion. It then poses a series of questions that allow participant to delve deeper into decisions they have made and how the direction of their life was influenced by that decision.ResourcesThe following scriptures:Matthew 14:10,13-14 10 he (Herod) sent and had John beheaded in the prison. 13 Now when Jesus heard this, he withdrew from there in a boat to a lonely place apart. But when the crowds heard it, they followed him on foot from the towns. 14 As he went ashore he saw a great throng; and he had compassion on them, and healed their sick. Mark 14:32-36 They went to a place called Gethsemane, and Jesus said to his disciples, “Sit here while I pray.” 33 He took Peter, James and John along with him, and he began to be deeply distressed and troubled. 34 “My soul is overwhelmed with sorrow to the point of death,” he said to them. “Stay here and keep watch.” 35 Going a little farther, he fell to the ground and prayed that if possible the hour might pass from him. 36 “Abba, Father,” he said, “everything is possible for you. Take this cup from me. Yet not what I will, but what you will.” Part 1 - Context(Note to the leader: This section can be read to provide a context for the participants.
